Our Departments
Secretariat
The Secretariat serves as the administrative backbone of the association, ensuring smooth operations and coordination between departments. It oversees official communications, membership management, documentation, and governance, ensuring that the association functions efficiently and remains aligned with its mission and objectives.
Gotab Gaa Welfare NSW
This department is dedicated to providing support and assistance to community members in times of need. Whether it’s financial aid, health-related support, counseling, or connecting members with relevant social services, the Welfare Department ensures that no member is left behind. It also manages welfare initiatives such as community fundraisers and emergency relief programs.
Men & Women Departments
These departments focus on the unique needs and contributions of men and women within the Kalenjin community. They organize mentorship programs, networking events, and support groups that promote leadership, family welfare, economic empowerment, and personal development. The Women’s Department also focuses on maternal health, parenting, and advocacy for gender inclusivity, while the Men’s Department fosters leadership and community engagement.
Students and Youth Department
This department is responsible for empowering young people within the community, providing them with academic, professional, and social support. It organizes career mentorship programs, university and high school networking events, leadership training, and personal development workshops. The department ensures that young Kalenjin Australians stay connected to their cultural roots while preparing for successful futures.
Children Department
Focused on the younger generation, this department creates a nurturing environment for Kalenjin children by organizing cultural education, storytelling sessions, language preservation programs, and recreational activities. It ensures that children grow up with a strong understanding of their heritage while integrating seamlessly into the broader Australian community.la.
Sports and Recreation Department
This department promotes a healthy and active lifestyle among community members through sports, fitness programs, and recreational activities. It organizes events such as soccer tournaments, athletics, and family fun days to encourage physical well-being and social bonding. Given the Kalenjin people’s rich history in athletics, the department also supports young talents in sports development and participation in local competitions.
